Day 2 at Tolminator was pure chaos and contrast! From Fulci and Midnight to Cro-Mags, Villagers of Ioannina City, and Cradle of Filth, our intern photographer Nox caught it all on the main stage!

This year, our team (with trainee Nox and resident photographer Tom) captured the heart and soul of the festival: the faces, the chaos, the calm by the Soča river. Day 1 of Brutal Assault 2025 set the tone right away with a good mix of legends and crushing heaviness. From the epic Viking soundscapes of Skálmöld to the industrial grooves of Static-X, the unrelenting brutality of Dying Fetus, the thrash assault of Kerry King, and the dark rituals of Rotting Christ, the Marshall and Sea Shepherd stages started off the festival properly.
Moon Shot, RØRY, and Stam1na took over Rockfest’s Red Stage and Black Stage with unforgettable performances, and we captured it all.
Last month, both of our home countries met at a great event with some of the top of the underground metal scene like Unhoped, Rapid, Galvanizer and the very first appearance in Finland of the Belgian speed metallers of Bütcher!
The tradition at GrimmGent is for all photographers to set up our personal collection of our favourites. Always an illustrious collection, sometimes with shots that haven’t even been published here. This is my Tom Treuten selection of highlights in 2024.
