After a well-deserved summer break, the new season opened with a bang. Fat Bastard Promotions and Asgaard managed to book 1914, one of the most interesting bands of the last decade. Bokkerijders was chosen as support. No wonder the tickets flew out the door. After a few days, the event was hopelessly sold out.

Steelfest XII brought a great collection of stellar underground bands to the festival’s indoor stage with headliner Mysticum, the current iteration of Horna with vocalist Spellgoth, Denial of God, White Death, Diocletian and Ifernach on the first day of the 3-day fest

The outdoor stage on the 2nd day of Steelfest XII was the place for explosive and often high velocity performances by Kroda, Infernal War, Ved Buens Ende, Délétère, and Corpsessed!

The first day of Steelfest XII also brought a series of explosive and high energy performances to the outdoor stage with Unleashed, Aeternus, Hellbutcher, Craft, and Deathchain!

Earlier this year, 3 excellent Belgian bands rocked our venue Asgaard with their music. One for one bands you should check out, with hardcore/deathcore from Despite Us, modern metal from Noord and pummeling death metal from Catharsis! An event presented to us by Fly Productions!

Turmion Kätilöt came to Tampere’s Pakkahuone for a big Easter party. Along came Japanese black metal legends Sigh and Finnish melodeath doomsters Marianas Rest. An event by Nem Agency and Tullikamari Tampere.

In January, as it happens on the regular, we hosted a night with local talents at our Asgaard venue in Gent, Belgium, with Powerstroke, Hudiç, and what ended up being the last show of Beyond Our Sight!

Long-running Spanish death metal band Avulsed returns with the eighth studio album “Phoenix Cryptobiosis”. With its absolute decay and cadaverous death metal madness, it’s highly recommended for fans of early Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under, out via Xtreem Music.

Denmark’s death metal band Maceration returns with the third studio album “Serpent Devourment”, a rotten death metal record that will entice fans of Entombed and was released with Emanzipation Productions.

Swedish cult death metal band Wombbath return with their seventh studio album “Beyond the Abyss”, and is highly recommended for fans of obscure extreme metal, out since yesterday via Pulverised Records.

Third studio album “Fentanyl” from German blackened doom/death metal quartet Morast is equally dark and misanthropic, out via Ván Records.

The new album “Revelations from the Void” of the Catalonian death doom sextet Onirophagus is rooted in the style of classic death doom metal. Recommended for fans of Officium Triste, Saturnus, and early My Dying Bride, out via Personal Records.

Sophomore release “Carnage Gathers” delivers a solid slab of primitivism from the Vancouver, British Colombia-based death metal quartet Grave Infestation. Out via Dark Descent Records on February 28th.

Retromorphosis is a newly spawned technical death metal entity featuring ex-members of Spawn of Possession, Obscura and Decrepit Birth. Their debut album “Psalmus Mortis” is highly recommended for fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Gorguts and Nocturnus AD, out since yesterday via Season of Mist!

Copenhagen-based death metal quartet Phrenelith has returned to conquer again with third studio album “Ashen Womb”, out via Dark Descent Records and Me Saco Un Ojo since February 7th, essential for fans of Incantation, Convulse, and Spectral Voice.

Debut album “The Diseased Machine” from London’s death metal quintet Mutagenic Host packs heavy aggression of old-school death metal with spacey themes. Out via Dry Cough Records since January 3rd.

The old-school death metal vein of Russia’s Pyre will not disappoint fans of early Asphyx and Entombed. Their third album “Where Obscurity Sways” is a must for aficionados of death/doom metal, out via Osmose Productions!
