U.S. death metal band Petrification returns with a brand-new album “Sever Sacred Light” out since February 9th via Svart Records. The album is recommended for fans who like their death metal obscure and old school.

The Irish old school death metal revivalist Vircolac return with a stunning release. The sophomore “Veneration” conveys a raw, organic style with plenty of dark atmosphere that emits a sepulchral melody. Out via Dark Descent Records since today, February 23.

Kings of cavernous death doom Spectral Voice return with one of the year’s most monolithic albums. “Sparagmos” borders into the spectral realms and portrays the band’s unique take in a more crushing and dismal manner, released via Dark Descent Records on February 9th.

Chapel of Disease takes another sonic twist with their fourth album, “Echoes of Light”. Though they haven’t abandoned their death metal sound fully, the new songs focus on elements of progressive/modern rock, out since February 9th via Ván Records.

Blood Red Throne delivers some quality metal on their 11th album “Nonagon” unleashes plenty of jaw-dropping riffs from the groovy chugs to the energetic drumming that is direct and efficient in crushing your skull. It is undoubtedly one of the band’s strongest albums, there are no frills here, just killer death metal tunes to crush your skull. The album comes highly recommended for fans of Vomitory, Deicide and, Cannibal Corpse. Out since January 26th via Soulseller Records.

French black/death metal band Necrowretch returns with another blasphemous album. Their fifth album “Swords of Dajjal” is fast and hellish and arguably the band’s best offering to date, out since last Friday via Season of Mist.

Fans of death/thrash metal should check out Norway’s death/thrash metal outfit Sovereign’s first full-length album, “Altered Realities”. The album is recommended for fans of Death, Pestilence and Nocturnus, out now via Dark Descent Records!

Vitriol’s second full length album “Suffer & Become” is ultimately bombastic and brutal, the Oregon based quartet has strengthened its ante with weaponized barbaric instrumentation. The album comes highly recommended for fans of Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage and Anaal Nathrakh, out now via Century Media Records since last Friday, January 26th.

The maniacal duo of the Indian black/death metal outfit Tetragrammacide presents one of the best offerings in the extreme metal genre this year. “Typho-Tantric Aphorisms from the Arachneophidian Qur’an” spits venomous fire brought by the mastery of the percussive force. The album was released via Iron Bonehead Productions on November 3rd.

And with supporting acts Kuvotus and Dome Runner, this was by far one of the most intense nights we have witnessed of late. A night full of blood, sweat and broken glass, with constant moshpits and stagediving!

Infected Rain came back to Belgium a second time this year on their “Heyday tour 2023”, the place to be was DVG Club in Kortrijk, accompanied by warm up act All Hail the Yeti!
