Day 1 of Brutal Assault 2025 set the tone right away with a good mix of legends and crushing heaviness. From the epic Viking soundscapes of Skálmöld to the industrial grooves of Static-X, the unrelenting brutality of Dying Fetus, the thrash assault of Kerry King, and the dark rituals of Rotting Christ, the Marshall and Sea Shepherd stages started off the festival properly.

The undoubted kings of psychedelic death metal of today, Blood Incantation destroyed Kulttuuritalo last April during their “Absolute Elsewhere Tour”.

New Zealand’s dissonant death metal giants Ulcerate made their highly anticipated return with their first headline show in Finland at On The Rocks in Helsinki, with support from local tech death band Omnivortex.

A night that showcased the diversity and sheer intensity of today’s death metal scene!

Canadian black metal giants Spectral Wound took over a sold out On The Rocks in Helsinki during their “BLOOD. MIRE. DEATH. tour”, bringing their unique raw, uncompromising black metal assault with the support from Finland’s own death metal outfit Ashen Tomb! An event by Nem Agency.

Last month, both of our home countries met at a great event with some of the top of the underground metal scene like Unhoped, Rapid, Galvanizer and the very first appearance in Finland of the Belgian speed metallers of Bütcher!

Indian metal straight from New Delhi, India to Trix Antwerp, Belgium: Bloodywood with their ‘Return of The Singh’ tour! And with support from Calva Louise and Demonic Resurrection it was a great night of amazing vibes and music!
