The Rasmus started their ‘Weirdo’ tour at Tavara-Asema in Tampere, Finland on the release day of their new album of the same name, with a setlist full of songs from the new album as well as many of their greatest hits.
Charon kicked off their reunion tour in Tampere, and we made it to their packed gig at Olympia-kortteli on August 29, a night of fun, good music and plenty of nostalgia!

We caught Auri on one of the first shows on their very first ever tour at Tampere-Talo on August 16. A very special show to be able to witness at a just as special location.
Day two of Tuhdimmat Tahdit brought Michael Monroe, Moon Shot, Black Devils, Hardcore Superstar, Turmion Kätilöt, Battle Beast and the legendary Blind Guardian to Tampere’s Eteläpuisto on the second day and was great yet again! We surely will be back at this festival in the future.
We, yet again, had a blast enjoying this year’s edition of Tuhdimmat Tahdit, which brought Finntroll, Kilpi, Mustasch, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, Lordi, Amaranthe and HammerFall to Tampere’s Eteläpuisto on the first day!
Last month, the tribe of Helsinki got to welcome Soulfly at Tavastia. Founded by the legendary Max Cavalera they still sound and are as energetic as ever, and with the fitting addition of Finnish hardcore icons Terveet Kädet as support, it was a great night with fast music!

Finnish black metal quartet Ondfødt has refined its craft on the fourth album “Det Österbottniska Mörkre”. The songs are packed full of tremolos and blistering tempos, showcasing an outstanding songwriting talent from these Finns. Set for release via Black Lion Records on May 26th.

‘Rise’ is a pretty average album. It’s been executed fine, but it can’t hold up to the pretty high standard The Rasmus has set in the past. The songs are very catchy but not that much more. That “something” that made The Rasmus great is just mostly missing on this record. Out since today via Playground Music, what do you think of it?

8 years after the near perfect ‘The Year is One’, one of the longest running Finnish doom acts Spiritus Mortis has returned with a new lineup and a fifth album ‘The Great Seal’, easing down a bit on the heavy doom riffery and replacing it with simply epic sounding heavy metal.
