Album Reviews

On their new album ‘The Thunderfist Chronicles’ out since yesterday with Napalm Records, Alestorm show their skills. They are not only a lot of fun, but also very good musicians, bringing in a couple of surprises along the journey! Those who see them at Nummirock today, have fun!

Alestorm sets sail for the seventh time on ‘Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum’: creativity and pirates at their best! Out on Napalm Records.

Crusade of Bards create this mix of power metal, symphonic metal, folk touches, and even gothic and pagan touches. It’s all there, and it all blends in beautifully together.

With this album I found myself distracted. I like the songs. They definitely scream party but they lack the power of pirate metal. It is still Alestorm, but not as loud and rough as we are used to.

The ship has docked and Alestorm has returned! So fill your tankards and tag along for some mighty pirate adventures, for there is no grave but the sea!

The Scottish pirates of Alestorm docked their pirate ship in Torhout, Belgium. A sold out venue was ready to party with them, fantasy power metallers Gloryhammer, the dwarves of Windrose and fellow pirates Rumahoy.

Skálmöld + Alestorm = Skálstorm. Throw on top of that the cowboys of Bootyard Bandits and it results in one hell of a party night!
