A visual journey through the musical performances on the big stage at Pakanafestarit 2025 featuring The Gallow’s Dance, Ilkka Heinonen, Värttinä, Kallomäki, Havukruunu, and Ínkar. From tradition and ritual to overwhelming intensity, these moments capture the powerful musical heart of the festival.
Day 1 of Brutal Assault 2025 set the tone right away with a good mix of legends and crushing heaviness. From the epic Viking soundscapes of Skálmöld to the industrial grooves of Static-X, the unrelenting brutality of Dying Fetus, the thrash assault of Kerry King, and the dark rituals of Rotting Christ, the Marshall and Sea Shepherd stages started off the festival properly.
From ritual to symphonic extremity. Afsky, Vermilia and Septicflesh bringing different visions of darkness and extreme metal to the Coolhead Live concert series under a bright summer sky.
The Polish black metal institution Batushka brought their unholy sermon to the halls of Helsinki’s Vanha Ylioppilastalo and brought with them the Russian pagans of Arkona, the pretty epic Canadian Aeternam and Latvian vikings of Varang Nord!
Swedish industrial metal legends Pain are on tour throughout Europe right now, and we caught them at their stop at the Backstage venue in Munich, Germany. Bringing with them Finnish pagan metal giants Ensiferum, Swedish dark symphonic metallers Eleine and Japanese Ryujin, it was quite the night for heavy metal!
