Besides starting the new year properly looking to the future, this month we’re also still looking back at all the awesomeness that 2023 brought us. One of those awsome things was the already 3rd edition of the by Bloodred Hourglass curated festival Black Box Mikkeli. They were able to bring a killer line-up again on the 2nd day of their event with besides a fantastic show by themselves, Insomnium, Gaerea, Balance Breach, I Am Your God and Lastout!
Second day at an exciting edition of Alcatraz we had a very black metal heavy one with Gaerea, Taake and Belphegor, old school punk with The Exploited, gloomy industrial from Godflesh and one of Finland’s favorite bands Amorphis!
Seeing Gaerea live is an incredible and intense experience, and they blew us away at their sold out show at On The Rocks with support from the locals Venenum Dei! A production by Nem Agency and Loose Mind Productions.

With new albums from Blind Guardian, Yungblud, Wolfheart, Slipknot, Starcrawler, Lost Society, The Hu, Vermin Womb, Vermilia, Bloodbath, Slugcrust, Electric Callboy, Innumerable Forms, Tribal Gaze, Gaerea and Graceless, it’ll be quite the month again!
Things are getting ramped up now that the summer period is at its end! Great releases are coming out soon and it showed in the past week with new singles from Slipknot, Gaerea, Alien Weaponry, Brymir, Orbit Culture, Suasion ft. Steffi Pacson and The Callous Daoboys that amazed us!

Gaerea unveils its composition and musical faculties with remarkable quality on their fourth studio album “Coma” and show an interesting new approach from these musicians, shifting somewhat towards a more generally extreme metal with an atmospheric post-black vibe, turning this into their best effort yet. Out via Season of Mist since October 25th.
Gaerea has once again outdone themselves. “Limbo” is an outcome of creative songwriting that makes this sophomore worthy of your time.
These Portuguese black metallers has installed a set of dynamic formulas to their debut entitled Unsettling Whispers, which can be defined as a modern black metal record that has a consequence gist of melodies and excellent song writing.
