The first Tuska 2023 day is here! In a handful of hours the gates will open and 3 days of heavy music will begin! Besides the headliners and some big names, we’ve picked out about 10 bands and artists we believe you should give a shot while you’re at Tuska this weekend with Vended, Kouta, Foreseen and Miseria Ultima today, A.A. Williams, Orbit Culture, Dirt and Nakkeknækker tomorrow, and Vermilia and URNE on Sunday!

Day 2 of Tuhdimmat Tahdit was just as hot. Carnival Academy, Heavy Metal Perse, Antony Parviainen Trio, Turmion Kätilöt, Metalite, Wolfheart, Shereign, Before the Dawn, Brymir, Mokoma, Swallow the Sun and lastly Battle Beast. Master Events gave us a festival that is certainly worth coming back to.

The second day of Steelfest XI delivered another serving of proper dark underground and extreme metal on the indoors stage with performances from Gravespawn, Ymir, Infernal, Totalselfhatred, Ride For Revenge, Gehenna and Carpathian Forest!

The kings of weed metal Bongzilla brought the smoke with them to a packed house at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki, Finland and delivered their usual absolutely crushing wall of sound to a highly anticipating crowd. Support came from the Finnish black metal outfit Frigid Winter.

It took 16 years, but The Old Dead Tree have finally written, recorded and released a brand-new track with ‘Terrified’, out now via Season of Mist!

Following suit its inaugural instalment two years ago, Australian masters of melancholy Mournful Congregation completed its funereal diptych with ‘The Exuviae of the Gods Part II’ . Out via Osmose Records and 20 Buck Spin.
