Melodic death metal heavyweights ARCH ENEMY are conquering Europe with their explosive “European Blood Dynasty tour”, and it’s nothing short of a musical crusade. To complete the total metal mayhem nights they have company from GATECREEPER (USA), ELUVEITIE (Switzerland) and AMORPHIS (Finland).
DISTURBED is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album ‘The Sickness’ with an extensive tour in Europe. They brought along special guests MEGADETH as part of the package, ramping up the excitement for heavy music fans all over the continent! On Sunday the 14th of September we found ourselves at Tampere’s Tavara-Asema yet again, to see Marko Hietala’s ‘Roses from the Deep’ tour with support of Leverage.
Friday night at Black Hawk MC’s Choppershow weekend in Belgium was all about live music, and especially local bands with Poseydon, popular cover band Impact, and most of all Hexa Mera hitting the stage with a farewell show. Their powerful set hit especially hard, knowing the band is stepping away after 15 years: a bittersweet but fitting send-off for a group that’s been so important to our scene and community.
Tolminator Day 1 through the lens of our photographer Tom with Stagewar, Marche Funèbre, High Parasite, Ghost Bath, Kreator & Omnium Gatherum. A powerful start to the festival!
Tolminator isn’t just about the bands. It’s about the people who make it unforgettable. This year, our team (with trainee Nox and resident photographer Tom) captured the heart and soul of the festival: the faces, the chaos, the calm by the Soča river. Check out our photo gallery celebrating the spirit of Tolminator 2025!
The Obscure and Octagon stages delivered some of the most intense sets of Day 1 at Brutal Assault 2025. From the triumphant return of 3 Inches of Blood to the symphonic fury of Fleshgod Apocalypse, the crushing weight of Inter Arma, the haunting doom of Frayle, the occult darkness of Ruïm, and the mind-bending chaos of Oranssi Pazuzu, it was truely a journey through the extremes of heavy music!
Day 1 of Brutal Assault 2025 set the tone right away with a good mix of legends and crushing heaviness. From the epic Viking soundscapes of Skálmöld to the industrial grooves of Static-X, the unrelenting brutality of Dying Fetus, the thrash assault of Kerry King, and the dark rituals of Rotting Christ, the Marshall and Sea Shepherd stages started off the festival properly.
Super Wednesday at STARS IN TOWN rocked Schaffhausen! From local heroes ELLIS MANO BAND to the legendary ALICE COOPER, the night was packed with unforgettable performances. UGLY KID JOE brought ’90s nostalgia with “Everything About You” & “Cat’s In The Cradle,” while ALICE COOPER’s shock rock spectacle—complete with guillotine and powerhouse guitarist Nita Strauss—blew the crowd away. Rain didn’t stop the energy, and the packed Herrenacker square proved once again: this festival is pure magic.
TollRock 2025 Day 1 was not only blessed with wonderful weather but with an impressive line-up on the first day. Starting with Lost Sanity (TollRockerz Band Contest Winner 2024), followed by April Art, Emil Bulls, Fiddlers Green, Skindred and Rock Rising gave an impressive list of artists. The audience was thrilled by the great live performances of all bands on stage. The expectations for day 2 have been raised to an almost unbeatable level.
Gig Reports
This night was Iron Maiden night! After one of their greatest performances ever last year at Graspop Metal Meeting expectations were real high for the band’s return this year. But they left our reporter with somewhat of disappointed feeling after the show at Sportpaleis in Antwerp with support from The Raven Age.
Sabatons ‘Tour To End All Tours’ came finally to an end, but not before also bringing the fire to Finland. With the Support of Lordi and BABYMETAL, they gave us an incredible show at the sold out Jäähalli in Helsinki last week. Thanks to TuskaLive and Grey Beard for bringing them here!
Nervosa came to On The Rocks in Helsinki to prove to us all that they are still a force to be reckoned with, even though the band is in yet another new iteration at the moment. With Prika on vocals, they sound as solid as ever, and killed it. Local heavy metal heroes Satan’s Fall were special guests and warmed us up nicely for the good old thrashing we were getting later.
Kamelot struck down in Helsinki to give us a proper “awakening” on their European tour, and brought with them some excellent support through Myrath, Eleine and League of Distortion! A night of absolutely excellent music that left a positive feeling with anyone who attended the show at Vanha Ylioppilastalo at the end of March!
Trivium and Heaven Shall Burn came to Finland to tear it up at Kulttuuritalo Helsinki, but not before Obituary and Malevolence softened up the crowd with some killer sets! An event by Live Nation Finland.
Battle Beast proved with their Jäähalli show in Helsinki that they are one of Finland’s up-and-coming heavy metal greats and can put down one hell of a show, with the support from Ensiferum and Kiuas. A production by Master Events.
At the end of October, Volbeat impressed the people at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland with a rock ‘n’ roll show of epic proportions. With them came Skindred and Bad Wolves for a decent warm-up and party!
Have you ever had a “bangover” before? If not, get ready, because you’re going have one after a Trinity of Terror show with the unholy trinity of Black Veil Brides, Ice Nine Kills and Motionless In White with support from Atreyu!
